March 9, 2009

First off, I did not love the chile rellenos, but, they had SO much cheese and chicken, that it just really didn{t matter.... I will tell her though that you love her for taking care of me. I think she{s kind of sick of us though, we only really come by once or twice a week. But this last Wednesday she made us homemade wheat tortillas then turned them into Quesadillas with chorizo and cheese! I feel bad though, i REALLY love that family, I don{t like to think they don{t like us too much. Im not sure about that, but its{ the hunch I have right now. That{s something thats been getting to me in these last few weeks. I{m not going to lie this last week was REALLY hard for me. Ok I have to say, somebody's playing a video game on the screen next to me and it{s REALLY REALLY distracting. ... It{s metal slug, not sure which one, but I kind of wanted to buy it before I left the mission. Anyway. We've gained a little, like, I mean a little ground with a few people. Monday was good we had a family home evening and was actually really funny and a good time with la Hermana Lucy and family. Tuesday, not too much. I don't remember all we did but All this week we've been traveling and going house to house to visit with people and we could never find them. Thursday was somewhat successful, but just because the pathetic amount of what we did, was effective. We left the house after planning and went to the Mesa. I saw your letter and you said it was mostly city... well. Our area is all of that and North, until the houses stop... That{s what{s called the Mesa Colorada, or in English the Colored Mesa. The pavement stops, the Cobble stone stops... civilization stops... IT{s dirt, and I love it. It{s so cool! Well, we headed out there to visit a contact that we had. Looked very promising, so I prayed that we would be able to find it, and we looked.. We really looked. IT{s on a street called Betabel, which means beet in English, like the vegetable ... beets. Walked down a little bit, nope it{s on the other side. Walked up, nothing, saw that it continues but on a different street, another betabel, followed that, nothing, we knocked a few doors, nothing, no success. walked up, I saw on the map again, another betabel, walked it, passed straight by the house, we thought it said 2910 but it was a 2410 which was what we were looking for. We walked down the street, nothing (or so we thought) we stood there for a few minutes looking stupid and then we saw these two kids just hawling butt up the road screaming we{re coming were coming! Elder Gonzalez, he just got here, he doesn{t know. I'm thinking great they saw the gringo, probably thinking lets go bother him ask him how tall he is and then ask why... We turned around to walk back up the street and then on the other side of us were an older lady walking down the street with her daughter. That was her, Maria Guadalupe and her kids. Walked in and... I was going to say taught but, well we taught, but it wasn{t anything very organized just answered a schlew of questions. But we invited her to come to church and she happily agreed. Now, we agreed to accompany her. We left house at 8 in the morning yesterday to go get her. We sat at the corner for a bit but he one bus that takes us to the other corner to take the other bus didn{t come. So we hopped a taxi to the other corner, about 20-30 minutes walking. Saw the ´bus´we need and hopped on. Now we could have taken 1 of 2 buses. the 641 mesa, or the 636 mesa. We took the 641 Lomas. Which speaking in terms of our home in Mesa. If I took a bus from the Bank of America building the one would take me to David{s house, where we wanted to go while the other took us to the middle of Chandler somewhere. We went to to the middle of chandler somewhere.... so we WALKED back, or to where this bus would pass by, we actually passed REALLY close to he church. We were thinking well, man, what if she isn{t home, we´re already late for church, lets just go to church, something said, late or who cares just go pick the chic up. (In more formal terms, lol) So we went found the 636 took it. Now remember 636 Mesa or the 636 Coro.. We wanted Mesa, we took Coro. SO in terms of Mesa, Arizona again, if we wanted to take a bus from the Bank of America building up the 60 to David{s house, we took one to the Superstition Springs mall. Then we walked to David{s house. It was a little closer than that example, but in the ballpark. We got there, they were all ready and we headed out, we got to the church just as they were finishing sacrament meeting. Much to our horrible blood curdling dismay the Mission President decided to come to our ward that day... ............... I{m pretty sure he thinks I'm retarded at this point. He already doesn{t like me. Maria loved church though. Remember Nohemi? Got baptized last Saturday, like 9 days ago?? I love her... she{s friggin incredible. We got out of church with Moises, Noemi's brother (after sacrament I mean). He{s not a member, he's not married with his GF so yeah, but were teaching them still and now his dad! Trying to help him stop smoking! anyway, we went looking for them, and nowhere to be found asked someone who told us yeah they' re singing in the choir... CHOIR?? We went in the Sacrament meeting room and their they were singing. maria and Nohemi and Monica. I started to sing to, the director handed me some music, so yeah. But the other 10 relief society sisters gave me the dirtiest looks so I stopped. Nohemi and Monica, the choir director and Maria and Lolita looked and like oh hey he{s singing, cool. Afterwards however, Nohemi, Monica, Maria and I were talking and Maria asked well why do they call you Mormons? Nohemi taught everything, she taught Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, living prophet bore her testimony and a whole load more... I need to go soon, but we have good hopes for her. This week though sucked. 13 lessons all week. Really bad. That and combined with all the other stuff. Right now I'm thinking worldly and all that jazz. And I would say that Sunday went down good and its all better but ... no, can't deny it. This week was hard and miserable. I can see that I've grown though. I hope that continues. Ii did get your packages! ALL of them, tell Rena............ I love you...... munch munch munch... did you see everything she sent me?¡¿¿¡¡!!¡¿1¿'!?¡ Rena's a nut, I don't have time for anything else... I want to talk for a bit... I want to write alot more... but I can{t ... just to say a little bit more of what happened. This is really hard... Its getting hard to deal with too. Its really getting hard to keep up.... Gonzalez though, he{s awesome. We joke so much, laugh at a ton. That helps. . I want to keep it up. Well, I love you more than anything, even the video games right next to me that made this letter a pain in the #$" to write.. He's playing Pokémon now... ugh. Tell David and Debbie how I feel about them. Before I forget, I{ve gotten alot of letters from everybody saying ´oh your emails are so funny, her her her´ are you forwarding them?? grr.... Love you mom, please keep praying for me. Dad you too, I love you Dad. Keep up the letters they give me more valuable information than you might think. and SEND ME PICTURES!!! AHHHH!!!! Love, Jake D.
